Enrol in the course: Computational Nuclear Reactor Physics at Chalmers - DEADLINE 28.09.2025

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the principles, approximations, and limitations of Monte Carlo and deterministic methods.
• Implement these methods in modern simulation environments.
• Compute and analyse key quantities relevant to Pressurised Water Reactors (PWRs) and Boiling Water Reactors (BWRs).
• Apply simulation results to evaluate and improve core design and operation.

Format & Timeline:

• 4-week self-paced online phase (7 Nov – 5 Dec 2025)
• 5-day interactive on-site phase at Chalmers University of Technology (8–12 Dec 2025)
• Extra time until 10 Jan 2026 to complete activities and improve grades

Assessment & Certificate:

• 25% asynchronous activities + 75% synchronous activities
• Participants scoring ≥ 50/100 points will receive a certificate of successful completion

Who should join?

Participants with a basic background in reactor physics and an interest in computational methods for nuclear engineering.
