Gender & Diversity in Science, Technology & Society

The ENHANCE Alliance presents the " ENHANCE Programme on Gender & Diversity in Science, Technology & Society " from February to April 2026, including a one-week onsite spring school in Berlin, Germany, from 9 to 13 March 2026.

What?

This ENHANCE offer leads to the acquisition of a 3, 6 or 9 ECTS micro-credential upon successful participation in module 1 (online course, 3 ECTS), module 2 (onsite spring school, 3 ECTS) and module 3 (online study project, 3 ECTS). More details about the different modules can be found  HERE . Instruction language is English.

For whom?

The offer is aimed at students (Bachelor, Master or doctoral degrees) of natural, planning and technical sciences, mathematics and computer science as well as students and staff who want to acquire competences in Science and Technology Studies (STS) with a focus on gender and diversity. In the Programme, the extent to which gender and diversity are to be understood as context-related results of historical, political, social and cultural processes and can be studied scientifically is elaborated. Participants will learn to understand and critically and reflexively evaluate the structuring of social inequality and intersectional positioning through science and technology.

How much?

The Micro Programme is FREE OF CHARGE. Participants might be eligible to receive an Erasmus+ funding for their participation in the onsite summer school at TU Berlin (module 2) if having successfully completed the introductory online course (module 1). 

Every student must obtain the dean's approval before applying and submit a completed application form to the Erasmus+ Office at WUT. The form can be downloaded from the  Erasmus+ PW website  or here:  Application form BIP_ENG .

In addition, students from the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) must first complete the internal WUT survey -  HERE  - before applying to TU Berlin –  HERE .

When?

- Module 1 – “Introduction to Gender & Diversity in STS” (online course, 3 ECTS): February 2026 (exact dates tbc)

- Module 2 – “Spring School on Gender & Diversity in STS” (3 ECTS): 9 to 13 March 2026 in Berlin, Germany

- Module 3 – “Study Project on Gender & Diversity in STS” (online study project, 3 ECTS): 23 March to 30 April 2026

In total, a maximum of 9 ECTS is obtainable for the completion of the whole Programme (modules 1-3). It is also possible to only complete either module 1 (3 ECTS) or modules 1+2 (6 ECTS). 

Please note that for participation in the school in Berlin, module 1 is mandatory!
