“Climate by Design: Can Global Climate Goals Succeed Without Local Creativity?”

On 7 September 2026, the on-site part of the 5th edition of the international ENHANCE Summer School “Climate by Design: Can Global Climate Goals Succeed Without Local Creativity?” began at Warsaw University of Technology. The Summer School is organised by Warsaw University of Technology in cooperation with Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and RWTH Aachen University.

This year, the Summer School focuses on local design actions supporting global change.

The opening session was attended by Dr. Eng. Arch. Anna Cudny and Dr. Eng. Arch. Artur Jerzy Filip from the Faculty of Architecture, Dr. Eng. Anna Rolewicz-Kalińska from the Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering, as well as Anna Smulska and Piotr Szczepański from the Centre for International Cooperation.

The Summer School consists of three parts. The first part was held online from 1–3 September, while the second part, taking place from 7–11 September, brings students to Warsaw University of Technology. The final part consists of students’ individual work and the presentation of group projects in the form of a video, taking place online from 14–18 September.

A total of 20 students from six ENHANCE Alliance universities and five countries are participating in the Summer School. Students who successfully complete the programme will receive 4 ECTS credits and a certificate.
