About ENHANCE project

The ENHANCE Alliance was established in 2019 on the initiative of 7 European technical universities: TU Berlin (Germany), Warsaw University of Technology, RWTH Aachen University (Germany), Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway) and Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden).

In 2020, the ENHANCE Alliance became a beneficiary of the European Commission's “European Universities” competition. The initiative is financed by Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 programs. Member universities received EUR 5 million to develop cooperation in the fields of education, research and innovation.

The main objective of the activities is to strive for the status of high-class research units, to introduce innovative educational methods on a large scale, to make the offer for students, doctoral students, scientific and administrative staff more flexible, and to reduce bureaucratic barriers.

In March 2022, the Alliance was expanded with two new associate partners from Ukraine: the National Technical University of Ukraine – Kyiv Polytechnic and the National University – Lviv Polytechnic.

In November of the same year, three more universities joined the ENHANCE Alliance: TU Delft (Netherlands), ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and the Gdańsk Tech.

During the ENHANCE project, which ended in 2023, cooperation was also established with companies, city authorities, non-governmental organizations, research networks and many others.
